What is Military Simulation (MilSim) Paintball?

There are many different styles of paintball. Among the most engaging is that of MilSim paintball. Standing for military simulation, MilSim paintball is slightly different from a standard paintball match because it involves a much more engaged, organized approach to the sport.

Military simulation paintball often involves reenacting actual battles from throughout history. The battle that is chosen will often depend on where the MilSim paintball game takes place and who is involved.

Past scenario paintball simulations have included everything from small skirmishes to World War II battles. Different MilSim paintball guns are available as well as MilSim paintball gear that matches different eras of military history to capture as much of the realism from those times as possible. The degree of realism involved in a MilSim paint ball is largely dependent on the nature of the event. These events can last anywhere between a few hours and a few days and can involve any number of different people as well.

While shorter games can be spontaneous and take place in just about any location, a longer game will need a designated play field in which to take place and specific instructions and organization to keep it under control! MilSim  is played in open, woods or rural environments where the landscape is as much a factor as your opponent. MilSim emphasizes teamwork and stealth. The crunch of a twig and the sound of a distant battle are part of a sensory experience that is unique to MilSIm. Since its played in a variety of settings, every MilSim experience is totally unique. Unlike the cookie-cutter air bunker setups found in tourney ball (speedball), MilSim rewards the player who can adapt to a variety of terrains and use natural cover to their advantage. OMEGA STRYKE UNIT is a MilSim Scenario paintball team.

There are "Ten Steps" listed below to become part of this Elite Paintball Unit!

Transportation is not provided to practices and local events, but we may be able to get you a ride with one of our team players if needed. Transportation is the responsibility of each individual player.

STEP 7 Decide if you are ready.
"Hey, you want play paintball?"  Of course you do!  Everyone wants to know what it's like to play paintball. The appeal is universal. Does it hurt?  Is it scary?  Will I be any good? Will you fit in? Are you old enough? Are you too old? Do I have the commitment, brains and energy to give to this sport? There is only one way to find out. Get out there and play!  Paintball is the original "extreme sport" and nothing else even compares to the adventure that await you when you step out onto a paintball field for the first time.

Getting started in paintball can be a bit confusing at first. For a beginner, it takes time to learn how to play, what gear you need, and what to expect. Over 9 million people have already discovered what a unique and exciting experience paintball can be. The game is played in many forms by people from all walks of life. Dads, moms, brothers, and sisters all play paintball.

You don't have to be big and you don't have to be strong. All you need is the desire to play. A paintball gun is the "great equalizer". A six foot tall, 250 lb. body builder is no more lethal behind a paintball gun than a twelve year-old girl. (Some would even say that the girl might have a slight advantage because she makes a smaller target!)  A paintball gun levels the playing field giving everyone the same chance to compete. So, sign-up and let's get started.

STEP 8 Meet a recruiter.

If you are a minor, your parents MUST support this decision 100%, there are NO exceptions. The "Agreement & Consent Form" MUST be signed, turned in and approved before any participation can take place. All new perspective members must fill out the OSU Application Form. Click Here to print out the O.S.U. Application Form. Please note: This is a different print out than our By-Laws (Rules and Regulations). Full-dues payment must accompany this application for your membership to be considered. Membership dues are NOT-refundable. ALL MEMBERSHIP DUES ARE WAIVED FOR THE 2012 PLAYING SEASON! ONLY DONATIONS WILL BE TAKEN TO COVER COSTS OF INTERNET AND PROMOTION!

Application Form  Adopted: 03 /04/2011
