Alphabetical Listing, Last Name First...
(Click on O.S.U.
Reserve Soldiers Personnel Folder to view bio and pictures) We
believe once O.S.U. Soldier... ALWAYS O.S.U. Soldier. The
"RESERVE" Soldier's are "Non-Active Duty"
members who played paintball on the O.S.U. team previously but are not
able to play on a regular basis due to other activities (i.e. military
service, college, life-in-general, etc.) We encourage the
"Reserve" Soldiers to join us at events when they can! The
"Reserve" players will either be placed in a
fire-team by a Commanding Officer, or if we have enough reserve
players they will become a fire-team of themselves for the event they
are participating in. Reserve Soldiers will also hold the rank
they had when they went into the "Reserve Status." It is
also possible for a "Reserve" Soldier to earn a higher rank,
but only if they qualify. We do request (but not require) that "Reserve"
Soldiers also wear the standard O.S.U. uniform whenever possible
during visiting games and events...so save your uniform and be ready
to dust off your marker when you can!

| O.S.U.
POSITIONS:
|
Infantry:
Versatility is what you want and that is what this position
is. Can handle any firefight on the paintball field. Infantrymen are
soldiers who are specifically trained for the role of fighting
on foot to engage the enemy face to face and have historically
borne the brunt of the casualties of combat in wars. As the
oldest branch of combat arms
they are the backbone of MilSim units. Infantry units have
more physically demanding training and place a greater
emphasis on discipline, fitness, physical strength and
aggression. They are trained in paintball warfare! |
|
| SPECIAL
POSITIONS:
(Corporal Rank or Above Required) |
|
The
O.S.U. is Currently NOT Using Specialist Positions. |
 |
Sniper:
One shot one kill. He is a one man army relying on accuracy to
bring the other team down. Good shooting skills are a must. He
will not have volumes of firepower to make up for poor
accuracy. Snipers are dedicated to unparalleled accuracy on
the paintball field. They are often characterized by their
cool mentality, and a passion for excellent shots. Snipers are
best known for their ability to sit back from the front line,
safely out of harm's way, and flank the enemy positions from
with effects as great, if not greater than those of the
infantry on the front line. Due to their characteristic
stealth, they are often observed in units that are known for
ambush operations, ghost flanks and stealth maneuvers in
general. Snipers are often used as special operation elements
in specific situations. |
|
 |
Gunner:
He/she is the player that brings the firepower! He will need to be
able to carry the ridiculous amounts of paint that is required
to keep the other team at bay and bring the heat on any
attack. Gunners are responsible for providing heavy
suppressive fire from long range, and they will often rush up
and down the front line, providing cover for other elements of
the unit as they advance. Gunners will almost always be
equipped with automatic weapons! |
|
 |
Heavy
Weapons / Demolitions:
Heavy weapons specialists may carry paintball grenades, paintball rocket launchers, paintball mortars, and
operate mounted paintball machine markers. They will often be
equipped with smoke grenades, and mines as well.If
there is a tank assigned to a unit, heavy weapons specialists
may instead take up the role of tank pilot (also referred to
as mech. pilot), as their knowledge of heavy weaponry tactics
provides them with an advantage. |
|
 |
Medic:
Medic's
must be incredibly fast, but often medics must have
fire-support to typically be able to stay alive. In most cases
the medic will be close to the front lines and must be able to
complete his/her job under heavy fire. Medics cannot hesitate
when operating in this position. They must be quick on their
feet and quick in thinking. |
|
 |
Scout:
Speed, Speed and more Speed is what this player needs. Lightly
armed and fast. He is the first player to make contact with
the enemy. He should be able to work independently since he
will be on his own for awhile and will need to make some key
decisions. A scout must also have stealth on his/her side. A
scout must be able to move quickly but also undetected. Usually,
they are counted on by the team command to 'take point"
in front of a Platoon or Company. In numbers, they can also
act as a team's quick response force, hovering behind their
unit's front line and filling in the gaps as friendly players
are eliminated. However, scout's primary responsibilities lie
in finding units of the opposing unit, and then leading
leading elements of the scouts' own unit to destroy those
opponents. Scouts are also frequently used to draw fire from
opposing teams for snipers, and to perform flanking maneuvers
when two sides come to a 'paint trading' stand still. Scouts
tend to be chosen for their speed, lightweight gear,
intelligence, and their initiative on the field. |
